Would this be possible with stretched ears?

My ears are stretched to 5/8. I'm going to be a sophomore in college and I plan on becoming a history professor hopefully. Basically anything with history. Is it possible to become that with stretched ears?? Should I take them out and if so how should I so they become smaller?
